“Let me inform everyone that Local 220 has a Retiree Council that is active, and we invite you to join in with us.  The purpose of the Council is to gather information of interest to the membership. (We have had speakers from the International Union, District Council, Legislative Department, Trust office, etc.) Just like it is shown in the above group picture. So we can discuss current political issues and races, and to get information about candidates who support the working people. Many make promises, but fail to follow through when elected. Also, we keep ourselves updated on Pension Issues and Health & Welfare issues. The Retiree Council is doing fine, but we could use some new members. The Retiree Council offers luncheons, guest speakers, Ernie Maldonado’s Santa Maria style BBQ / Tri Tip and Chicken, Hector Castaneda and Ray Reyes ChiliVerde / Carne Asada meals, Lunch at the Famous Basque Restaurant Narduccis every January at Bakersfield, and Lunch at the Historic Restaurant Jockos every February at the Central Coast (Nipomo). We meet on the forth Monday of each month. Please join us.”
